Welcome to Ironworks

Factories, rail yards, workshops, and warehouses keep the city moving even when the clocks disagree.

Eight places to begin

Places worth finding

These are selected from the district location reference, with private campaign material withheld.

IRN-01

Grimmstone Iron & Foundry

Grimmstone Iron & Foundry is one of the district’s largest surviving heavy-industrial plants, producing beams, castings, rails and structural components used throughout the city. Its furnace glow is visible through rain for blocks.

IRN-02

Union of Unreasonable Engineers

The Union of Unreasonable Engineers is the guild home of Grimmstone’s Fixers. Its headquarters occupies a sprawling former factory filled with workshops, classrooms, testing rooms, salvage bins and projects nobody has successfully explained to the fire inspector.

IRN-03

Ironworks Rail Yard

The Ironworks Rail Yard is a maze of tracks, freight cars, switching towers and loading cranes moving materials into and out of Grimmstone.

IRN-04

Mercer Machine & Tool

Mercer Machine & Tool is a family-run shop producing custom parts, repairs and short-run components for factories, vehicles and inventors.

IRN-05

Redline Garage

Redline Garage handles delivery trucks, buses, industrial vehicles and heavy towing. Unlike Black Briar’s Briarline Motors, Redline specializes in vehicles that work for a living.

IRN-06

The Shift Whistle

The Shift Whistle is a twenty-four-hour diner positioned between the Foundry and Rail Yard. Its menu is cheap, fast and built for people who have been lifting things for eight hours.

IRN-07

Local 13 Union Hall

Local 13 represents workers across several Ironworks trades. The hall contains offices, meeting rooms, training spaces and a large assembly room used for votes, benefits meetings, retirement parties and arguments.

IRN-08

Grimmstone Power Substation 4

Substation 4 distributes power to much of Ironworks and parts of neighboring districts. Behind high fences sit transformers, switching equipment and control buildings humming in the rain.
